I am interested in examples of Lydian melodies and chords.
"The Simpsons" theme song is one example of a Lydian melody. c2 e2 f#2 a2 g2 e2 c2 a1 f#1 g1.
The chords in the A section of "A Man and a Woman" sound very Lydian to me: ( in C) Cmaj7 - B7 - Bbmaj7 - Em7 - A7 - Dmaj7. They sound very nice as: Cmaj7#11 - B7 - Bbmaj7#11 - Em7 - A7 - Dmaj7#11.
So, more easy examples like these?

George worked for decades to disprove it himself; if you know his music, there's no question that it has gravity. And a final word: George was famous for his refusal to lower his standards in all areas of his life, no matter the cost. He twice refused concerts of his music at Lincoln Center Jazz because of their early position on what was authentically jazz. So save any speculation about the level of him as an artist and a man. The quotes on our websites were not written by George; they were written by critics/writers/scholars/fans over many years. Sincerely, Alice

Re: Lydian Melodies/ Chords?
The new wave of guitarists from the 80's onwards has brought many Lydian pieces.
Try Joe Satriani- Flying in a blue dream: amongst others
Steve Vai - ~The Riddle: fluctuates between lydian, lydian augmented and lydian dominant
