the whole thing is that when i make sound on the keyboards, i simultaneously manipulate the movies and graphics so they animate in the moment to my sounds - through the software Max/MSP Jitter - which runs on Midi.

Sometimes people don't understand this - they think it's "composed" but it's not, it's improvised. That's the idea.

Now I also have speech to text so I can influence the text I speak at the same time as the images and video.

The saxophone is improvising with me and the video in realtime (no software connection yet, but that's also in the works).

I'm trying to understand all the stuff that's going on at once while I build the performances, so I've kept it simple so far.

there's another student in my program working with cymatics. it's interesting stuff.

one general title for all this work is "visual music" there was an exhibition in LA and huge catalog just a few years ago

Bob, that is pretty incredible. Did you go to Istanbul to hook up with that soprano player? I don't blame you if you did. He sure has the tone.

Yes - welcome home Motherlode! Good to "see" you back. When you have some time, I'd be very interested in your thots on my sound/image/text questions. How best to connect LCC to improvised image and text.
