the whole thing is that when i make sound on the keyboards, i simultaneously manipulate the movies and graphics so they animate in the moment to my sounds - through the software Max/MSP Jitter - which runs on Midi.sandywilliams wrote:Now you have me curious. Did you improvise to the video or was that something you created later? I love it.bobappleton wrote:we met ten minutes before the performance. we just started playing and it was great.sandywilliams wrote:The videos are beautiful. What a nice tone the soprano player has!
Sometimes people don't understand this - they think it's "composed" but it's not, it's improvised. That's the idea.
Now I also have speech to text so I can influence the text I speak at the same time as the images and video.
The saxophone is improvising with me and the video in realtime (no software connection yet, but that's also in the works).
I'm trying to understand all the stuff that's going on at once while I build the performances, so I've kept it simple so far.

Yes - welcome home Motherlode! Good to "see" you back. When you have some time, I'd be very interested in your thots on my sound/image/text questions. How best to connect LCC to improvised image and text.
Sandy, Glad you like Yahya's playing he's a serious player and great person - and also interested in electronics. http://www.yahyadai.net
I was lucky enough to meet him through a mutual friend. And yes, I'd travel to Turkey to play with him anytime.
