Insights about "Tonal Gravity Chart"
Hi: I´ve been working on "Tonal Gravity Chart of a Lydian Chromatic Scale", and I arrived to a new insights in the use of the theoric material of the Concept. I parallel with this I´m using Bartok axis sistem in improvisation, and based on this last one, in example C tonic can be used in t...

Re: New perspective on LCCOTO.
@CN, in your precedent post you were saying melody, bass, chords and voice leadings intersect/superimpose vertically and horizontally (resolving tendencies). I quite don't get why are we often looking at the lydian tonics for the chords (or groups of chords) rather than looking at the successive in...

Re: New perspective on LCCOTO.
FYI, the chart posted by Joe is from the old book and therefore follows the "old" order of Tonal Gravity. The new book has a revised order of Tonal Gravity, however there is not a new chart of Tonal Gravity (intervals) in the new book. Somewhere on this forum I had made up this chart rela...

Re: New perspective on LCCOTO.
Thanks Chesper!!!! I will check where do you posted this new organization of the chart. I feel that this "interpretation" is very interesting, but I feel more comfortable with scales, since I can´t figure the real application of this other point of view in the regular practice over a tune ...

New perspective on LCCOTO.
Hi people: I wonder if some of you are in The Lydian Chromatic Concept group on FB??? If do you don´t know it, I really encourage you to join it. I recently discover a new insight, almost for me, of use of this Concept. It´s stated by Joe Giardullo, great soprano sax player and devoted user of the c...

Pandiatonicism and LCC
Hi: I was reading yesterday about the concept of pandiatonicism, described this way: ...is a musical technique of using the diatonic (as opposed to the chromatic) scale without the limitations of functional tonality. Music using this technique is pandiatonic. (see Wikipedia). I don´t know exactly ho...

Re: ML's post @AAJ, nice voicings, question about the CDR
Fernando you say your hear the voicing top down D Bb f d c Ab sounds more Bb9 chord than a Ab9b5, even with a Ab in the bass ?! that's interesting. Yes, it´s the third invertion of Bb7/9 chord with Ab in the root.....Bb9/Ab, and for me it´s a II degree of Ab Lydian Scale in his most ingoing associa...

Re: chart A. 7th#9 chord @(VII) of lyd. aug. !?
if you look at chart A but the explicit voicings given in chapter II (4th ed) you get GR sometimes voices seventh chords without major third, as if a seven chord doesn't really need that tritone to sound seven (bluesy !??) for instance a minor7sus(add9) chord in C lydian (bottom up) D E G A C, soun...

Re: chart A. 7th#9 chord @(VII) of lyd. aug. !?
Yes, you are so right!!! Forgive my confussion please, and going again with A7#9 I can understand your doubt, and searching again at the posible scale I arrive at the VII degree of Bb Lydian dimished.
