I know exactly what you are talking about Chesper... I just can't find the documentary I watched about it. That art form is referred to as cymatics. In rice or sand- http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Zkox6niJ1Wc In water- http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EaowfGVzQ7U Try that search term, you'll find some...

What an odd forum to post this on! I like you. ;) It seems almost impossible to teach without delving into key signatures... I would maybe state that there are twelve keys (signatures) and... If ya' only hit the white keys (actual keys on a keyboard) you're only playing in one of them. (No need to g...

I obsessed over this a while back... to the harshest of extremes. I am thinking symmetrical intervals (Or small possibility inversion intervals) have some form of reign over us... They are all the fundamental intervals in tonal magnetism. Look at the tritone, the minor third, the major third, and th...

That's what I am having trouble with, making a decision. I think I am going to ask some of my non-musician friends what they think...

No, I was just curious! =^_^= Hmm... I'll have to really play around with the higher orders a bit more... I cannot honestly give you an answer. It's a bit hard for me to rate such a thing via comparison, seems a bit ridiculous because my mind finds a different tonical center each time... Not the low...
